I’m delighted to be returning to the Edinburgh International Book Festival this August with my friend and long-time collaborator, Ghanaian storyteller and musician Chief Gift Amu.
Building on the craft, music and storytelling workshops we’ve facilitated together over the past year, this special family session celebrates one of Edinburgh’s most remarkable summer visitors—the swift.
Each year these incredible birds journey thousands of miles between the UK and Africa, reminding us of the invisible connections that unite people, places and cultures.
Through papercraft, live storytelling and drumming, we’ll invite families to create their own paper swifts, make music together and celebrate creativity, migration and connection in a joyful, hands-on workshop inspired by the skies above us.
